Paring machines are designed to quickly and easily remove the outer skin or peel from fruits such as apples.

The paring machine pictured at left is cast iron and called the "Bonanza Parer" which was made by the Goodell Co. for commercial establishments such as hotels. It was patented in the late 1880's and introduced in 1890.
